Dr. Frances Gentle, Immediate Past President, ICEVI: I extend my heartfelt thanks and congratulations to you for your outstanding work in managing every aspect of the conference. From the initial planning stages and creating the conference website to ensuring the smooth departure of delegates to their home countries, your dedication has been truly commendable.
Thanks to your hard work, diligence, and meticulous attention to each participant’s needs, every element of the event was a great success. The pre-conference activities, conference sessions, general assembly, and social events were all highly appreciated by attendees.

Ms Sian Tesni, Chairperson: Program Committee: From my observations, from discussions with people throughout the conference and from the learnings shared on the podium as well as in concurrent sessions, I know that delegates appreciated the program created. There was such a wealth of information, research and practical knowledge shared formally and informally. There was representation from across the globe. All that we had hoped to achieve we did together.
Delegates will go away with information and contacts to assist them in improving the quality of life of persons who are blind, have low vision, deaf blind or with multiple disabilities. The presentations shared by people with visual impairment themselves and their caregivers were particularly impactful, to me.
However, I am sure that you will join me in sharing our gratitude to the wonderful BPS and Sense International army which absolutely did all the real hard work behind the scene to make every delegate feel comfortable and welcomed. No request was too small! They welcomed us all with a smile of joy, they worked long hours before and during the conference and still they smiled – fueled by adrenaline I think! Even when there were any issues raised, they dealt with them with care and ensured that all ran smoothly.
The book of abstracts also greatly appreciated! Our gratitude also to the University for providing such a wonderful space for the conference. Their technical expertise and services will allowed people to join online through live-streaming. The recordings will be a rich source of knowledge to share with anyone who wants to learn more about the conference content and about ICEVI’s work in general.
I sincerely hope that I have not left anyone out of this email. If I have it is note deliberate. Each an every one of you contributed to the wheel of success of the programme. What more can I say? Congratulations team and thank you all once again. It was a privilege to be a part of the process and wonderful to meet you face to face!

Chintamani Hasabanis, India: Highlights of my paintings at ICEVI2024 (International Council for Education of Visually Impaired)
“Completeness confessed to Incompleteness, ‘I feel incomplete when I stand before his artworks.’ Hearing this, Incompleteness replied, ‘I feel the same.’
Interrupting their conversation, the artwork spoke: ‘Why not embrace the incompleteness within you? In doing so, you may nurture humanity.'”

His insights and contributions underscored the Philippines’ efforts in advancing inclusive education and empowerment for persons with visual impairment. Gen. Resources for the Blind’s involvement not only showcased the strides made in the Philippines but also allowed for meaningful dialogue with international experts. The conference reinforced RBI’s role as a key advocate for inclusion and accessibility, inspiring further efforts to create a more equitable world for people with disabilities.
The International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI) World Conference 2024 was held from 14 16 November 2024 with the theme “Inclusion in Diversity: Equity and Accessibility for All”. Key Highlights:
Interactive Sessions and Panel Discussions: The discussions were insightful and tackled pressing issues such as inclusive education, employment opportunities, accessible technology, and community engagement. The emphasis on solutions and actionable strategies was particularly commendable.

Overall, the conference was an inspiring and impactful gathering that reaffirmed the importance of inclusion and equity in every aspect of society. The congress went on very well, at all levels, all the people who managed this conference need to be thanked. I know from my experience that significant work is required to organize such a congress.
In fact my message is that we must remain vigilant in the use of Artificial Intelligence because for visually impaired people, many new devices and tools are have been created and shall be created for to facilitate their daily life, their work, their social life, and also their family life, etc. for ensuring their true and full inclusion at all levels.
I end by saying without arrogance or provocation, “AI could become in some way the eyes of the people with visual Impairment”.

Birendra Thapa, Nepal: This is my first experience of such an international conference. I got a live experience of international practices of inclusion and Inclusive Education. participated in different sessions of my interest. learned about universal design, accessibility and a lot of practices of Inclusive Education. Connected with the global network of Inclusive education. Thank you ICEVI and other organizers for this great opportunity and warm hospitality.

Your dedication not only made the event an incredible success but also enriched it with memorable extracurricular activities that allowed participants to connect and learn in meaningful ways.
It was such a pleasure and privilege for us to attend ICEVI 2024, present our work, and experience the warmth of India for the very first time. As we write this, we are still traveling across the country, meeting other tremendous organisations dedicated to working with and for persons with visual impairments (VI). This ongoing journey has been inspiring and deeply rewarding.
From the opening session to the closing, the entire conference experience felt surreal. Many faces were familiar from past conferences where VEA-int had either presented or participated as observers. It was equally exciting to meet new colleagues and forge fresh connections, which we are confident will blossom into long-lasting friendships, and networking opportunities.
The conference offered a refreshing and inspiring lineup of distinguished speakers who covered a remarkable range of topics. Their insights reaffirmed the importance of the conference theme, “Inclusion in Diversity and Accessibility for All.” At VEA-int, we are eager to follow up with some of the presenters and organisations to explore opportunities for collaboration, innovation, and growth.
Looking ahead, we are excitedly anticipating the upcoming ICEVI Europe and ICEVI Africa conferences. Until then, we remain steadfast in our commitment to building bridges and fostering partnerships that further accessibility, inclusion, and empowerment for persons with visual impairments.
To everyone who contributed to making ICEVI 2024 an unforgettable experience, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will cherish the memories and inspiration it has given us for months and years to come.

Ms. Ditte Lise Juul Pedersen and Ms. Dorthe Marie Degn IBOS, Denmark, EU – The Danish Institute for Visual Impairment, we would also like to thank you for the hospitality and service, we met as participants and speakers of the ICEVI 2024 WC. The organizers have done an impressive job! We know it is not an easy task. Congratulations!
Matters of improvement could be to use less of everybody’s time (2 hours) at the start of the conference for the panels praise to each other. The praise is most deserved, but it was repeated by all panelists for all panelists. Said with a smile: It felt like attending someone else’s cousin’s party. At the end of the conference, it felt more natural with the awards.
We would have liked more organized time to interact with the other participants in e.g., longer workshops. We only experienced short one-way info. Travelling to the other side of the world for one way 15 minutes speech does not feels quite satisfying.
As our national sister organization services children, not us, so we were on the lookout for topics related or youth and adult . Maybe that can be a suggestion for future ICEVI conferences.

Md. Jahangir Alam, Bangladesh: We are very much thankful to all of you for successful completion of the event. Also, thankful for giving meaningful engagement scopes for learning a lot from different respected presenters and sharing my virtual presentation.
